January Wrap-Up and February TBR

I don’t know why I’ve never done a wrap-up post before, but hey there’s a first time for everything.

This month has felt like a slow reading month for me, but Goodreads tells me I’ve read 7 books this month which isn’t too shabby!

Here are the books I’ve read this month:

  1. Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales – 3/5 Flames [Review Here]
  2. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli – 4/5 Flames [Review Here]
  3. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas 4/5 Flames [Review Here]
  4. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas 4.5/5 Flames [Review Here]
  5. The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas 4.5/5 Flames [Review Here]
  6. This Raging Light by Estelle Laure 3/5 Flames [Review Here]

January Book Haul

Cover Reveal: Kids of Appetite by David Arnold

Since I read 7 books in January, I’m going to try to do the same in February.

Without further ado, here is my February TBR:

heir of fire

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

I’ve been working on this one for about a week and a half now and it’s been real slow-going for me. I think one of the reasons it’s been taking so long is because I’m reading it as an eBook form so I splurged the other day and ordered all of the hardcovers. They should be coming sometime this week, but we’re expected to get a pretty decent snow storm so there may be a delay. 😦

queen of shadows

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

I’ve heard that this one is much better than Heir of Fire so at this point I’m just trying to get through HoF so that I can get to this one.

first & Then

First & Then by Emma Mills

I picked this one up on a whim one day when I had very little self-control. It looks short and sweet and I’m hoping I can knock this one out pretty quick.

the wrath

The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

I received this book as a Christmas gift, but I’ve been trying to get through the Throne of Glass series and I didn’t want to do two fantasies at the same time. I’ve heard amazing things about this one so I’m excited to get to it once I’m done with ToG.

the distance from me to you

The Distance from Me to You by Marina Gessner

What can I say? I love survival stories and I love cheesy romance. I’m really looking forward to this one!

buffy 3

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 Volume 3 by Joss Whedon (and others)

I knocked out volumes 1 and 2 pretty quickly so I figure this one should be a breeze. I also splurged and ordered volume 4 (which is the final volume in Season 8) so that one might make it into February’s TBR as well.

Glass Sword

Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

This one is still up in the air for me on whether I’ll get to this one in February. I preordered it but I wasn’t super impressed with Red Queen (don’t kill me) so I’m not really dying to get to this one. I honestly barely remember what happened in Red Queen so I’ll have to read some summaries before getting to this one.

TBR Runners Up:

I am notorious for not sticking to book plans. It’s very possible that I will decide I don’t want to read any of these and that I’ll choose something else instead. Here are some others that almost made the list, and may make an appearance in February:

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

The Siren by Kiera Cass

Feverborn by Karen Marie Moning

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

So that was my January and a little glimpse into what February may hold. Not a bad start to the year and I’m hoping to keep this pace up!
