What are you currently reading?

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

Morgan Matson is quickly becoming one of my favorite contemporary authors. This is the only book she’s published (under the Matson name) that I have yet to read. I’m about 100 pages in and I’m really enjoying it so far!

Lady Renegades by Rachel Hawkins

I’m currently listening to this one on Audio. I have to say I’m a little disappointed in this series – I adored Hex Hall by Hawkins but this one is just going downhill for me.

What did you recently finish reading?

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

Ahhhhhh this book was so good guys. And the cover is just too freaking adorable. As you can see I’m working my way through all of Matson’s work right now lol. I am just completely in the mood for cute contemporaries and these books are 100% fitting the bill.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have a couple more contemporaries lined up but I might be a little cutsied out after this book, so we’ll see. I tend to pick books based on my mood. Also I’m going to The BookCon in Chicago on Saturday and I’m hoping to get a ton of books there!

For now let’s say that my next book will be:

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

Because I never read it the last time I said I would :p

I also just want to take a second to acknowledge the fact that I have been totally slacking in terms of this blog.

I have no excuses other than the fact that I’ve been lazy and unmotivated. I spend 9 hours a day looking at my computer at work and most days when I come home I don’t feel like touching my laptop. Then I started accumulating a queue of reviews to write and that just started to feel daunting so I just ignored it for a while.

I’m going to try really hard to start tackling that list and to start being much more active on here, but I’m usually pretty active and up-to-date over on Bookstagram (because it’s way easier to snap a picture in the morning before I go to work than it is to actually have to create content 😉 ) so if you want to connect with me over there, my name is @readhotreviews.
