“But Traci – it’s only Thursday!” I’m sure you’re exclaiming. Yes I know, but I wanted to take a minute to introduce you to a new weekly feature I’ll be having here on the blog and the reasons why.

As some of you may already know, Read Hot Reviews was originally a blog I started back in 2010 while I was in college. I created it because I was doing the 100 book challenge and I wanted a way to keep track of the number of books I was reading.

After I finished the challenge, I became less motivated to blog. Then as I got closer to graduation and finding a “big girl job” I had very little time for reading or blogging, and Read Hot Reviews became stale. I actually sort of forgot about it for a while.

Last summer I was at a family birthday party when my aunt asked me for a good book suggestion. I just stared at her for probably about 30 seconds with a dumb look on my face as I realized I hadn’t actually read a book in a long time and had absolutely no recommendations to offer. That was really my wake-up call because I remembered a time when reading was one of my favorite pastimes.

I decided then and there that I would get back into the swing of things and I am so happy that I did! I created this new, refreshed version of Read Hot Reviews and made the old one private. I couldn’t bring myself to delete it, but I wanted to start fresh.

The other day I thought to myself – why are you wasting those reviews and all that great content? I looked at my old blog and saw that I had written 150 posts. 150! So I decided that every Friday I’m going to bring back one of those reviews here on my new blog.

Everyone these days (myself included) is looking toward the next big thing, the next beautiful new release they can’t wait to get their hands on. But what about all the great books that have been around for a while? I’m not saying these books are ancient by any means (the reviews are only 6 years old!) but they may have been pushed to the outskirts of the memories of readers today.

So that’s my introduction to the new feature I will be debuting tomorrow and holding here every Friday. If you’ve been blogging for a while and want to participate, then grab the image and bring back an old review (or an old post in general) that you think needs some new lovin!
