Hello lovelies!

I just wanted to take a minute to acknowledge the fact that I’ve been a little MIA lately. I typically post 4-5 times a week or more, but these last few weeks I know I’ve been a bit scarce.

 

There are several reasons why my posts have been few and far between:

1. Work. I’m on this gigantic project at work and it’s been really stressful, to say the least. I’ve been putting in lots of night and weekend hours and the last thing I’ve wanted to do when I got some relaxation time was to look at my computer some more. Hopefully it will be wrapping up soon!
2. The books I’ve been reading have been taking me forever.
   
   
   I really liked Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, and The Assassin’s Blade. But good God Heir of Fire was gigantic and boring. I stuck with it because I’ve heard fabulous things about Queen of Shadows (which I’m halfway through now and liking much better than HoF), but honestly it just took all my willpower to keep reading it. Instead I binge-watched Parks and Recreation on Netflix. #sorrynotsorry

   Moral of the story is, Heir of Fire took me about 3 weeks to read and not finishing a book means no review(s) to post. I’m going to write that review right after I finish this post so you guys will at least get two posts from me this week ;).

3. I bought my husband a camera for Christmas and I finally joined Instagram (I know, I know – so behind the times) and I’ve been spending a lot of time fiddling with the camera and taking pictures of books – which has sadly taken away from my blog time. Sorry!

   

4. I’ve started writing again! Yay! I’ve started outlining and drafting a story and every minute that I spend blogging instead of writing feels like a little bit of a betrayal. 😦

 

Ultimately what I’m trying to say is that I know I’ve been slacking and that I’m going to try very hard to pick back up again. Once I get through Queen of Shadows, a lot of the books on my TBR pile are quite a bit shorter so I should be able to pick up my regular pace again. I don’t know if it will be 4-5 posts a week like it used to be, but I’m hoping for at least 2-3!
