Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re (im)patiently awaiting.
The book that I can’t wait for this week is:
Winter by Marissa Meyer
I’ve listened to the first 3.5 of these on audio and the narrator, Rebecca Soler, is AMAZING. She brings these stories to life in a way that makes it so I wouldn’t even want to read them on my own, which is too bad because the covers are beautiful and I would love to have them on my shelf. These books are a refreshing sci-fi almost steampunk twist on classic fairytales and I truly cannot wait for the next installment.
The deets:
Publishing Date: November 10, 2015 (So soon! Yay!)
Synopsis (may contain spoilers if you haven’t read the others in the series):
Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mar her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana.
Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend–the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for far too long.
Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter defeat Levana and find their happily ever afters?
What book can’t you wait for?
I’ve read Cinder and Scarlet so far and I really need to get Cress soon…I love fairy tale retellings! I find this series interesting 😀
